John 14:6

Light or Life

I got am e-mail about my blog the other day. Someone was trying to find the verse John 14:6. No surprise that she found my blog, but she was surprised to see that it read:

Jesus answered, "I am the way, the truth and the light. No one comes to the Father except through me."

She was right, it should be Life and not light. I did a quick google search and found several
discussions on the topic. Below I pasted
a few of the verses people listed as evidence for light working too.

John 8:12 Jesus spoke to the people
again. He said, “I am the light of the world. Those who follow me will never
walk in darkness. They will have the light that leads to life.”

4 In him was life; and the life
was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the
darkness comprehended it not.

This is what I love about the bible. Many layers and lots of depth. No wonder you can read it over and over again
and still uncover hidden truths.

I read the bible in a year…Now what?

As you may or may not know, I read the entire bible in 2008. It was something I really wanted to do as part of my spiritual walk with the Lord. It is amazing how the Lord meets you in his word when you are ready. It was really hard to keep up with the readings, but was an amazing journey. I found the reading plan very helpful and was a constant guide to make sure I finished. I now find myself a but lost in the direction to take this blog and lost in my daily devotion. I still pray often, but need to find a bit of focus and direction. So here is what I am planning to do….OK now you see the problem. I am not sure what the next study will be or what direction this blog will go. Keep me in your prayers. Regardless of where or what tomorrow will bring, the Lord never disappoints…it just may not be what you expect.

Ready for change

For both of you that have been following this blog (sorry bad humor), changes are ahead for this blog. I am still working on where the Lord is leading me, but change is coming. Despite the fact that my posts have dropped off since October, I did complete the reading plan and can say that I have read the bible cover to cover over the course of a year (2008). It was an amazing journey and the Lord really revealed himself in so many ways when I met him in his word daily. He pushed me to start the reading plan and this blog and I believe he is pushing me to do more. I am still trying to figure out what exactly that might be, but it seems to be centered around the idea:

Display the faith

Let me ask you this question:

If you were charged as a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you?
